INDUSTRY GIRLS CLUB

the IGC:

bands, music, bamboozle. over it.

i had a MEGA blast this weekend, but due to exhaustion a spent a good portion of saturday sitting under MONTY ARE I's tent lurking VIP's and internet celebs. Enter the boys club. Everywhere i looked it was dudes schmoozing, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Most of the time when a girl was in the mix she was being introduced as a girlfriend or trying to become one. Maybe this is just a commentary on the highly competitive nature of women; we don't vibe well with each other but it's a super bum out on my part. Females were clearly the majority in the crowd, but clearly the minority on stage. The females bought the tickets and were scooping up the merch and they should be supporting other females, not just cute dudes in bands. (not that there is any think wrong with cute dudes in bands. SWOON)

Everyone is all about lurking these days so i want to give girls some SOLID women to stalk. aspire to the next ultragrrl, don't just dream about marrying pete wentz. THE PLANS: i want this to be a group of ladies that young girls can have access to. Stop looking at the skinny bitches at misshapes, don't aspire to just be another scene girl. (again..not that there's anything wrong with that. this is NOT a haters club) there are so many avenues in this industry that girl could take. i would like to show them some opinions. i don't think the women that are currently involved in the music industry are that visible. i want a website with profiles and links to the journals and myspaces of cool music industry girls and new updates of the fun stuff they are involved in. plain and simple for now. i want to compile a group of ladies that i think are totally rad in as many different avenues of the music industry as i can. designers, performers, managers, promoters, whatever. whoever i can find. whoever would be interested.

i dunno. that's all i have so far. i need to work a better business model. i like to see this be a small clothing line too. well, at least a t-shirt and a hoodie or something as a way of showing support for each other. banners on myspace. generally really simple i think. a resource, but something fun for the ladies involved too. ladies nights? i want this to be a super FUN thing.

so...ideas? suggestions? is this cool?
